"Hog2Roast was established in the spring of 2005 as a part-time venture at weekends but soon turned into a full time job."

We love spit roasting

Hog Roasting in Scotland takes us to all corners of the Scottish countryside. We have travelled the length and breadth of the country a number of times, but visit the central belt hog roast Glasgow and hog roast Edinburgh on a regular basis to do pig roasts in the city. It is always exciting to get to visit new places within the city that we have never been to before. We have visited a number of places in Glasgow to do Hog Roasting functions. On numerous occasions we have driven just outside of the ring road to deliver and collect hog roast machines for hire in Glasgow. They often hire the machine and pig from us for parties on the University campus in the students refectory, for example. The most notable event that we have catered for recently in the central belt was at a hog roast Glasgow wedding. We travelled to Glasgow a day in advance because the weather was so treacherous, we ended up staying up in Glasgow for 3 days because of the weather. It was the coldest function that any of us has ever catered at as we were serving in a barn in -6 degree conditions. However, it was an adventure for the 5 of us who braved the weather and will definitely stick in our memory.

Community Events

Glasgow is not far from where we are based so get a lot of work for community events and have earned ourselves a good reputation in the area. Each year we provide hospitality for a local agricultural company. We hog roast in Glasgow at the Motor Show. Even though this event is held annually in the summer the weather does not always reflect the time of year and a hot pork roll is always welcomed. Further into the south-west area of the city we did a hog roast Glasgow garden party, we have done quite a few pig roasts now. It was in the middle of the summer, we catered for a couple who were having a garden party for their friends. The weather was perfect and we had a great view overlooking the countryside and the sea. We provided the Hog Roast, as well as salads, new potatoes, fresh rolls and meringues with fresh fruit and cream for dessert. When we left, the party was getting into full swing and we are sure continued for many hours.

Coast to Coast

In the past year, we have travelled to the east coast on many occasions. One of the most memorable functions that we did was at Edinburgh University for a medical students' sports weekend. We were asked to cater for 700 people, so the massive volume of people was the biggest challenge at this function. There were 5 members of staff at this Edinburgh Hog Roast as we had salads and potatoes to prepare whilst the pigs were cooking. We grated, chopped, mixed and boiled furiously for the whole six hours. The most memorable thing about this function was the endless queue which continued for miles and never seemed to end. However, it eventually did end and everyone was happy after they had been fed. The journey home was not enjoyable as it had been a very long and busy day.

The east coast is one of the most enjoyable places to travel to as it is incredibly picturesque. In the summer, we travelled to the centre of Edinburgh to cater for a Edinburgh hog roast wedding. We had been asked to cater for this wedding as the bride's family were local and we had done catering for them before. This was a fun journey as none of us had been to this area of the city before down on the water front and got to explore some of the areas around the venue as we were there for 2 days. At this wedding we provided canap's, the main meal, desserts, teas and coffees, and an evening buffet. It was nice to be asked to travel to provide our Hog Roasting services at the wedding. We have also catered at a 2 day cycling event where we did a hog roast in Edinburgh with salads and potatoes on the Saturday night and a breakfast of porridge and bacon rolls the next morning for 200 people. These types of events are especially enjoyable because we get to know the guests over the time that we are there.

We have travelled to so many places in Scotland that it would be impossible to list them all, but those are some places have been most memorable for us.

  • I saw your trailer go through Lockerbie last night and it reminded me I hadn’t emailed you to say how much everyone enjoyed the meal you provided on our wedding day, everything, from the canapés to the sweets, was absolutely delicious and even the fussiest of folk were delighted with it! In the evening the hog roast looked and I’m told tasted amazing (I had chicken, it was lovely too!) everybody enjoyed it and the veggies were all chuffed with what they had! Thank you again, I won’t hesitate to recommend your services if anyone is looking for a caterer. P.S. The cheesecake was the very nicest I have ever tasted, was it home made? It was so light! If you did make it I would love the recipe please x

  • We are just back from honeymoon and I thought I would take the opportunity to send you an email thanking you for all the work Jamie and the Team did on Saturday 6th August. You all did a wonderful job. The food was absolutely wonderful and everyone was very professional. The food was absolutely delicious, and many of our guests complimented us on the catering. We would wholeheartedly recommend Hog 2 Roast to anyone considering a similar event. Thanks Jamie!

  • Dear Jamie and team, Thank you so much for the fantastic, delicious, professional catering you provided for our wedding. From the initial query to the clear up the day after you ensured that everything ran smoothly and with the minimum of fuss. All our guests commented on the lovely canapes, the fantastic hog roast, roast beef and roast lamb, the array of salads and the lush strawberry meringues. Albert and I had the best day of our lives; it meant so much to us that we could share all our favourite food with our friends and family. In fact Albert's only regret of the entire day is that he didn't have a second helping of crackling! Thank you again and a big thanks to your staff who stayed on after the meal to help with the bar.
All our best wishes, Caroline and Albert Spencer
  • Thrilled to write a testimonial for you.....indeed cannot recommend you enough, hope all well with you, quite a lot of snow with us today! We would like to give our highest commendation to Jamie and his Hog 2 Roast team. They have now done two parties for us ,first at home and then a wedding in Mull. Indeed for the Mull wedding provided all china glasses waiting staff etc....and were a large part of making a really happy day. Nothing too much trouble, everything thought of, and all done with a big smile.
    Happy Christmas, yours Kate Duffin
  • We all thought you provided an excellent service. The meal was outstanding and the service at the reception was faultless. The fact that the wedding took place in a barn in Aberdeenshire, in the worst winter weather possible, did not seem to affect you quality in any way. We really appreciated the fact that you travelled a day early, through the blizzards, to be with us. We would not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone needing a truly professional service.
    Best wishes Peter McKie
  • A big thank you from all of us a Brogan Fuels, Dumfries. Our open day on Saturday the 14th July was a great success, we had over 300 people come through our gates and enjoyed the day with us and we do not have a bad thing to say about the hog roast. Everyone really enjoyed it, the hog was cooked to perfection aswell as the stuffing, crackling and your homemade sauces. All here at Brogan Fuels would like to wish Jamie and co of Hog 2 Roast all the very best for the future and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

  • Annette had a birthday party in her garden for 140 guests. Hog2roast provided a full hog roast with rolls, stuffing, sauces and staff to cook, serve and carve. Annette provided her own salads and gazebos. The hog roast created a great atmosphere, the food was enjoyed by all and provided us with further bookings.

  • Arnold Clark Renault in Dumfries had Hog 2 Roast supply the catering for their annual Renault To Go "On Show" open weekend. The service supplied was first class and the food was on par with the service. Both Jamie and George interacted with the customers which added to the atmosphere of the event. I would recommend them for any event you may be considering, I would certainly use Hog 2 Roast for future events.

  • Thank you very much for the food you served at Oliver's christening. All the guests commented on how much they enjoyed it- no one could believe it was your first function as everything ran so smoothly! We would certainly recommend you highly to anyone thinking of having catering at a party/ event. We have no doubt that Hog 2 Roast will be very busy over the next few months as word spreads. Thanks again for making our little boys special day even more special. Good luck for the future.
